Founded in 1988, the Fort Lauderdale Children's Ballet Theatre originated with a mission to promote the remarkable achievements and talents of its young company members and inspire growth for the future of dance in our community. FLCBT is proud to be a non-profit organization and is supported by Dance Dimensions, Broward Cultural Division, Funding Arts Broward, its company members, and in-kind donations. Renowned for its family friendly full length productions showcasing spectacular scenery, professional costumes, and exciting sets and lighting, the Fort Lauderdale Children's Ballet Theatre showcases the talents of young dancers from all over the Broward County area. FLCBT's beloved ballet fairytales include Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Coppélia. Our charming, full length ballets are performed at Broward Center for the Performing Arts in November. Dancers are selected for the production annually by audition in February. Auditions for our 2026 production of "Cinderella" will be Sunday, February 1, 2026. Interested dancers currently enrolled in ballet at ANY studio, age 5+ are welcome to attend.
The Fort Lauderdale Children's Ballet Theatre presents "Cinderella", a timeless fairytale ballet classic performed November 21–22, 2026 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts' Amaturo Theatre. This 90-minute production features over 120 young dancers ages 5 to 18, performing every role from principals to ensemble under the direction of FLCBT's renowned faculty. A show perfect for families and first-time theatre-goers, the audience will be transported from the quiet corners of Cinderella's hearth to the grandeur of the royal ball, complete with dazzling costumes, masterful scenic design, and a score that has enchanted audiences for generations. As the clock strikes twelve and the glass slipper finds its rightful place, this beloved fairy tale comes to life through the artistry of our finest young dancers — a legacy of ballet in South Florida for 38 years!
